Answers to common questions

What’s the difference between a team member and a respondent?

You can invite unlimited respondants to your messages in ZipMessage at no extra cost. Respondants are people who can see a conversation you’ve created and post their response to it. Respondants can be anynymous or logged-in users (you can control which are allowed in each of your conversations).

Team members are usually people who work within your company and who’ve been invited to access conversations in your company’s ZipMessage account as well as create new conversations in your account.

If your team is larger than the number of team members that premium plan includes, each additional team member adds a small additional cost per user (see above).

Can multiple people participate in a converation?

Yes! Conversations can be 1-to-1 or multiple people (a group conversation). Or, you can open a conversation to the public and share it with many people!

Are there limits on the length of recordings or number of recordings?

If you’re on any paid plan, your recordings (and your respondent’s recordings) can be any length. If you’re on the free plan, recording time is limited.

Can I manage who is able to view or post messages in a conversation?

Yes, conversations can be made “Public” or “Private”.

When a conversation is public, then anyone who you share the URL with can view it. Optionally, you can allow anyone to post messages into this conversation as well, and optionally allow those messages to be published anonymously or require a name and email.

When a conversation is private, then only those you personally invite will be able to see and/or post messages to the conversation.

Will messages expire?

If you’re on the Premium plan, you get unlimited message history, when means your messages never expire as long as your Premium plan remains active.

If you’re on the Basic or Free plan, your messages remain available for playback for several weeks or months (see above).

Can recordings be exported?

Yes, all recordings can be exported as MP4 video. Audio recordings can be exported as MP3 audio.
